Optional Activities
There are several extra activities available for an additional fee. Space is limited and advance registration is required. During registration, check for rates and to see which activities are available for your session. (Please note age restrictions for specific activities.)
Advanced Outdoor Living Skills: Concentrates on outdoors cooking, camp and compass activities, backpacking skills, and overnight camping trip. (Ages 11 and older – available for two-week campers only)
One-Time Horseback Ride: Campers have the ability to spend some time with the horses during one session on one day during camp. Special care is taken to introduce the camper to the horses and how to ride a horse. Their time with the horses culminates with a slow ride around the ring under a counselor’s supervision. (All ages permitted – available for one-week and two-week campers)
Daily Horseback Program: Campers spend one activity period at the horse park every day except Sunday. Time is evenly divided between riding lessons and learning basic care of horse and tack. (All ages permitted – available for two-week campers only)
Theater Arts Trip: The rich, cultural resources of the North Georgia Mountains provide opportunities for off-camp trips to local attractions or to a live drama presentation in this talent-filled area. (All ages permitted – available for two-week campers and Horseback Specialty campers)
Whitewater Rafting: With the Nantahala River roaring nearby, campers can journey with staff and raft the river on a guided trip once during the session. (Ages 12 and older and minimum of 60 pounds – available for two-week campers and Horseback Specialty campers)
General Info
Payments: Balance of the camp fee must be paid by May 15. Installment payment plans are accepted. A 10% late fee will be assessed on all camp fees received with a postmark dated later than May 15.
Refund Policy: There will be no refunds for withdrawals or dismissals. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 2 weeks prior to session. All refunds are subject to the Camp Director’s approval and will be issued end of August.
Early Arrival: There is an extra fee for campers arriving the evening before session. Campers should arrive after 6 p.m. and have already eaten dinner. Please contact camp at least 2 weeks prior for rate and reservation.
Airport Transportation: There is an each-way charge to pick-up and drop-off at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Arrangements must be made two weeks prior to session. Please contact camp for date and arrival/departure schedules before making your flight reservations. All arrangements must be approved prior to making reservations.
Scholarships: We have a limited number of partial camperships available. They are not awarded until April and a registration deposit is required prior. If you need a financial assistance form please contact the camp office.
Camp Store: Added to the camp fee will be the suggested amount of $20/week for your camper’s store account. During store time each day campers may purchase snacks, batteries, camp souvenirs, and other items. Your child will not have to keep up with any cash. Refunds for remaining store money will be given on closing day of session or may be donated to the counselor fund.
Registration Process: Return completed registration form with $200 deposit, $75 of which is a non-refundable processing fee or you may register on-line by clicking the “Register Now” button on our homepage. A Camper Packet will be sent to you with all the info and forms you need to be ready for camp!
